An early 20th century ballot box, made by L. Simpson of London.

This superb ballot box still has it's original finish, pouhes of black and white ballot balls, and brass handles to the drawers. Both the wood and brass have developed a lovely patina over their years of use. There are scuffs, marks and scratches as expected from an item of this age and material but overall this well made example is in good condition. The drawers have green baize lining and slide in and out as they should. There is a later applied brass plaque to the top, and a makers mark to the back.
